2010 Skate/BMX Competition

Well that’s it guys.

2 Days of fun, meeting all of the kids in the El Cajon/Santee area was a blast. There was a lot of talent here, especially in the really young ones (who knew 8-year olds could pop shove it over the boxes?)

We gave out a ton of merch to the competitors, and combo prizes including boards and shirts to the top 3 in each category (Jr.High/High School), and there were even a couple semi-pro BMX riders showing off their talents on the dirt…. though I didn’t get to meet them since they had to leave so soon.

Next year we are coming back for more, but we will be at Future Quest’s main event!

All in all it was awesome. Till next year. ++action

hopeless skateboards hits the youth venture

Join us on friday the 25th and saturday the 26th for the annual skate competition at the youth venture in El Cajon! Friday we will be sponsoring the skate competition from 4 to 6 pm, where there will be a demo by a couple local semi-pros and on saturday there will be a BMX event going on from 12-2, new for the year.

We will be handing out free merch and selling shirts and boards as well, and there will be food and music as well, so be sure to see us there!

WHEN:

Friday, June 25th, 4 -6pm // skate competition

Saturday, June 26th, 12-2pm // BMX competition

Skateboarding is just so much fun and when you skate with your friends it just pushes you to get better.

That would be a good thing, because so do we.

Or, maybe you know some people who do, and you are the photographer – either way, we have something to offer you. We understand that it’s a pretty big world out there hanging with the pros but they aren’t the only ones worthy of attention, so starting this week, we will be featuring a skater on our site every friday.

Interested? There’s nothing to it.

Here’s what you have to do:

Read this. By entering to be featured you agree to everything that is said.
Become a fan on facebook, a friend on myspace, or follow us on twitter – that way we can find you easily and see who you are
Find at least 3 of the best pictures that you have of yourself on a board – try to find something unique and different. Also, make sure to send us the highest quality available, it will make selection a lot easier.
Answer the following questions and don’t be afraid to get creative:

Pictures are not limited to skateboarding! If you like to snowboard or you ride BMX, send it all, we don’t mind.
Once you submit, tell all your friends about it so they can have a chance as well
We will accept submissions every week until thursday at midnight. We will post the our pick the next day by 9pm, so be sure to check to see if you got featured!
If you don’t make it the first time, try again, maybe different pictures will do the trick? Sometimes its really hard to single out one person, you may not be so far away.

Well, it’s 2010, and with the new year comes new promises. That’s right. After months of disparaging terror, wondering which way was the right way, what is right and what is wrong, how to stay in business, and what happened with Michael Jackson, we have come to a new-found sentience – we are back in the game, and this time you will be hearing lots about us.

Oh, and I mean that. Every corner you turn, you will be affronted by Hopeless. When you brush your teeth at night, you will taste Hopeless. In every window and every gallery, we will be there, in your very face! And by the way, if you have not told every possible living being about us yet, it is now the time to do so.
